Chapter 34

Hello again, hope you are well. I was a bit rough last week. I got over it though. I have been to the museum today. I went to the cafe and had two oatcakes and a tea. On Sunday I went to subway and had a coffee. Little treats like this cheer me up. As well as going to the gym I have been getting out in the fresh air and having a nice walk. It really lifted my spirits. I went for a meal last week with a good friend. It was very enjoyable. Today I have had a little walk around Hanley. It was nice. I am getting up earlier in the morning now. I think it is because it is brighter. Thing is I am going to bed later. It means I have got at least 2-3 hours a day more to enjoy. I watch dvds I borrow, mtv music, I listen to cds, radio. I read.
I am generally enjoying life more. When I went for a walk on Sunday it was nice to hear the birds singing. It is like when the sun shines it makes you feel better. Simple pleasures we should not take for granted. Till next time take care.

It's nice to hear people talk about the simple things in life. I spend so much time rushing around, even though I can hear the birds in the background, I tend to forget how soothing it is. I shall now stop, even if it's just for a second, and listen carefully. Glad to hear that you're feeling grounded again.

Dear Jack,

You have learned to be kind to yourself, as well as being very kind to others, which you also do very well, and with great sincerity.
You really appreciate the 'simple pleasures' that our lives have to offer, and you 'make the most of them'
You show true greatfulness for everything and everyone in your life.....and this is the path to lasting happiness! as you have discovered.
I also recently enjoyed a very pleasant meal with a good friend,(an angel in fact!)
I consider myself to be very fortunate, as I know that you do too.
Long may you continue to experience all the blessings we have in our lives....With kindest wishes Helen(Domenica)X

Hello Jack,
What a fine combination. Keeping busy, living your day with positive anticipation, and ofcourse, taking the time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
As you know, I try to maintain a similar philsophy. Not always easy, yet the good times far outweigh the bad times. It's all how we approach life.
Look forward to seeing you at MAGMH along with some of the old and new members.
Take care Jack. Warm wishes Gary.
